My mother comes from Rutherglen
El hombre trajeado - Neoprene
(off the Glasgow 2 x 7" EP on Plastic Cowboy)
This is the link you'd be using if it worked. As it is I keep the dead link here (and the Jehst one below) as a reminder of past failures for those concerned so they can LOOK AT WHAT THEY'VE DONE and hang their heads IN SHAME.
still, it's not as bad, as oooh, those people you know, the irritating ones. Damn they're annoying.
does anyone else write things they'd never dream of saying? like "Damn" for example.
Today's track is downloadable from this thing here. It is by Asha Puthli and it is called Space Talk.
A great blog to visit is Random Generator. The music is great and the words are diverting enough to stroke brilliance. Its what mp3 blogs are for isn't it? I've been meaning to add this to the links but I don't really know how the internet works, the only precedent in my frame of reference is teletext. Anyway, today's topic is SCHOOL DINNERS. Here's a man whose not afraid of either big issues or utopian thinking. Double plus.
If I were to draw a pantheon of rock and roll GODS The Yummy Fur would be near the top, hanging with Mark E Smith, Ian Curtis and Jonathan Richman, even above Momus, Yo La Tengo, Was (Not Was) and Pavement not Pavement (as I call them). A Certain Ratio would be one of the pillars and The Human League would too. 23 Skidoo and Joe Meek would live in the heart and make cups of tea for Helen Love, Bis, DNA and Subway Sect. Asha Puthli would be the backing vocalist at the cafe near the kidneys. Wiley and Slicks would b2b MC and she'd let rip at the chorus. The backing band would be Rip, Rig and Panic. You could make the trek from the liver or the lungs and be home for supper.
A compilation I got hold of recently (late as ever) was Volga Select Presents So Young But So Cold: French Underground Music 1977-1983 and the tenth track is A M A Z I N G. It's so good I reckon it could be used on an advert. Download it by clicking, not here, but here. It is by Artefact and called Mae.

Paul & Michael R.I.P.
1982 - 2005
As a present for those who visited yesterday and failed to download a Jehst tune, and anyone who also happens to be passing by, is the track Memories of Me by Transllusion which you can get by moving your cursor over the forthcoming link and clicking the left mouse button. This is the link you should click on. Fancy that, its another track with James Stinson's grubby paws all over it. The man's a god and he too is in the pantheon of rock & roll gods, he is on the stained glass windows of the church in the anus. It is here that the very Rev. Kenny Dixon Jr delivers his sermons to the thirsty masses. If you aren't really sure who or what James Stinson is then there is a nice obituary at remix mag and a rare interview here, courtesy of the Detroit Free Press. Now, if you'll excuse me, I need the toilet.
