Fatman Scoop Fiasco Scoop
Local culture thwarted by local Council, as seen through local paper:
First came the report that North Lincolnshire Council were pasting "CANCELLED" over promotional posters, with "this poster has been" in tiny letters above and a warning about illegal flyposting.
Next the review of Fatman Scoop's intimate performance at the Baths Hall to a paltry turnout of 130, followed the next day by the Council's response that flyposters made the town look "a mess". Scoop is quoted bringing it to the local officials in this peculiar syntax: "I think it's terrible the way the gig has been sabotaged, or player hating as we call it."
Meanwhile local murmurs that posters for another venue's event were left intact point to the influence of club owner, restaurateur and president of the North Lincolnshire Chamber of Trade, John Hayes. Ken's spiders will continue to monitor this story as it develops.
